Question by masterskier25: i have a 40″ 1080p lcd samsung hdtv…and i’m afraid to keep the volume turned up…?
i have this OCD problem with turnin(and leaving) the sound louder. the volume setting is 0-100. when i have everything else in my room turned off, (desktop/laptop, consoles, etc) and just have the tv on, on average (depending on the channel, cuz sum are louder and quieter than others) i can keep the volume level at 6. and it seems to do just fine

but where as sum channels r quieter, i kinda can hear the channel. but am afraid, even to turn it up to 9 or 10. cuz i feel like (even though its not high wutsoever) if i turn it up higher than like 7…it will deteriorate the sound over time.

basically, wut was fine at 6 before, i have to keep at 10 just to get the sound quality of 6 before. so basically, 10 is the new 6. and 6 now is like 2 or 3.

i KNOW im paranoid bout this. but should i not worry too much. so like, no matter wut im watching…would it always be like 6 is always a 6. 10 will always be 10, etc

at about wut volume level should i actually start to worry about the sound getting progessively worse.

also…why is it that dvd’s and blu rays are MUCH quieter when being played (used through my ps3 or xbox 360).

Although it may sound that way, that is not how it works. All speakers deteriorate slowly over time, but if you have not had the TV for that long, it is more than likely that you are either tricking yourself into hearing it softer, and that you are just used to it. Chances are if you keep it lower than you would prefer it, then get used to it, your hearing will adjust to it, and you will not notice it as much. Ive had this problem before, and that is just what I did Hope I could help.
