i got a 40 inches lcd tv and when i turn the tv off there is a little red little at the bottom that stay on.i wonder if i am turning it off wrong or does that red light have to be there.

Probably a standby light. My old RCA tv has one, my monitor has one, my Wii has one, my PS3 has one, etc. It’s just letting you know it has power.

I have a wall mount kit for a Samsung T260 LCD and I need to remove the existing stand before I can install it. Does anyone know where I can find instructions on how to do this without damaging the LCD monitor?

On Samsung’s site, they list all the models for this year, the B series. In some stores they may still have last year’s models, the A series. They could also have returns and refurbs which are even older. And during the year, sometimes the manufacturer’s discontinue a certain tv, so they remove it from their site, but the stores still sell it.
And Walmart, Costco, etc. often have slightly different model numbers with some missing features from the main model numbers on the web site for various reasons. All you can do is look at the features and buy what meets your needs.
So that’s where you may find a difference.

s-video cables cannot transmit HD video
maybe 480p but nothing better than that
if your HDtv doesn’t have a monitor input then you need a video card that can output either composite video(the blue/red/green ones) or HDMI, if you tv has one of those inputs

No, VGA only supports up to 640 x 480.
It will still be clearer than watching a lower quality movie, but your PC/TV may try stretching/ squashing the picture, which will just wreck the picture for you. Unless the TV supports Full HD Upscaling, which some do-but not all from the VGA.
Your best bet is either HDMI, or USB if you TV has it.
Some AV Receivers have VGA inputs, with Full HD Upscaling to HDMI output, but not a huge range.

Question by masterskier25: i have a 40″ 1080p lcd samsung hdtv…and i’m afraid to keep the volume turned up…?
i have this OCD problem with turnin(and leaving) the sound louder. the volume setting is 0-100. when i have everything else in my room turned off, (desktop/laptop, consoles, etc) and just have the tv on, on average (depending on the channel, cuz sum are louder and quieter than others) i can keep the volume level at 6. and it seems to do just fine
but where as sum channels r quieter, i kinda can hear the channel. but am afraid, even to turn it up to 9 or 10. cuz i feel like (even though its not high wutsoever) if i turn it up higher than like 7…it will deteriorate the sound over time.
basically, wut was fine at 6 before, i have to keep at 10 just to get the sound quality of 6 before. so basically, 10 is the new 6. and 6 now is like 2 or 3.
i KNOW im paranoid bout this. but should i not worry too much. so like, no matter wut im watching…would it always be like 6 is always a 6. 10 will always be 10, etc
at about wut volume level should i actually start to worry about the sound getting progessively worse.
also…why is it that dvd’s and blu rays are MUCH quieter when being played (used through my ps3 or xbox 360).

Although it may sound that way, that is not how it works. All speakers deteriorate slowly over time, but if you have not had the TV for that long, it is more than likely that you are either tricking yourself into hearing it softer, and that you are just used to it. Chances are if you keep it lower than you would prefer it, then get used to it, your hearing will adjust to it, and you will not notice it as much. Ive had this problem before, and that is just what I did
