Question by John M: TV resolution only states it can show 1080i , can I buy a 1080p HD tuner and connect it to my tv to increase?

No. First of all I’m not aware of such a tuner. The only things that are currently out that can process 1080P are Blu-ray and HD-dvd players. You can also download a Little bit of 1080p content from the net and pass it through a media center to a 1080p Tv Via a DVI cable. Other than that, not much out there. To answer your question more directly. If you TV is only 1080i (720p) then it wont ever be able to process 1080p . A 1080i Tv is only capable of producing resolutions around 1344×768. Sorry, but I wouldn’t worry about it since there isn’t hardly anything out there in 1080p. Even the first gen Blu-ray’s look like garbage.
