Question by Will B: How do I set up my computer/HD TV so that the screen is dispaying High definition 1080p?
I am currently using a DVI-DVI cable as my video card does not have a HDMI out… I have a DVI-HDMI converter so that the cable plugs into a HDMI slot on the TV.

I think i may need a new graphics card… but which one?

If you already have a DVI output, then you shouldn’t need any new hardware.

What hardware do you have (graphics card, TV), and what happens when you plug it all together and reboot the system?

Just switching the cable from a monitor to the TV usually doesn’t work, unless the monitor was in a TV-compatible display mode beforehand (ie, 480p, 720p, 1080i or 1080p).

You may need to update your video drivers in order to get support for the TV display modes.

One note: a new card might be needed if you want to display copyrighted video content. This depends upon your player program.
